Welcome! Lakes Area Charter School is a public charter school in west central Minnesota servicing students in grades 9-12. Alexandria Technical College, Alexandria, Mn is the sponsor for Lakes Area Charter School .

It is the mission of Lakes Area Charter School to provide quality education for the youth of the area for the purpose of accomplishing personal growth and academic excellence. The three components of the curriculum include: state mandated academics, individual instruction, and technology with emphasis on individual student needs.
The Lakes Area Charter School program is designed to meet the needs of students who are not thriving in a traditional school setting. While in high school and during the transition from high school to post secondary education or the world of work, the individual academic needs of students are considered a high priority in implementing this curriculum.

Greetings, I'm David Buker the Director of Lakes Area Charter School. Our small class size with a maximum of 20 students per class allows us to meet the needs of each student. Student progress is monitored and when appropriate, behavioral and/or academic interventions are implemented to assure continued progress. Lakes Area Charter School is making a difference in the lives of students who desire to chart a new and successful direction for their lives.
